The cinematic glow of a Hollywood dawn and dusk when compared to an anticipatory flicker in a darkened theater could pale depending on how good the popcorn is and if the lead can act. Happy #Oscars2020!

Let me explain... 2019 was a year of strength and growth, a year of transformations fueled by a will to make a better world. Sure we have our shadows, but they only make the light that much more beautiful. The low points bring about highs and most importantly; gratitude. I’m grateful each day for new and old things in my life. I’m grateful for my friends and family, and the love and support they have always provided. My love for whole food plant based eating and understanding of its powers has only grown stronger. I suppose that’s one reason for posting this self portrait. I wanted to show what plants have done for me and my physical appearance. If @kumailn can do it, so can I (and so can you)! Maybe I’m lucky but I haven’t been sick for 3 years. Sure I’ve had my hiccups, but we all do as the weather changes in as extreme a form as it has lately. I’m no scientist so I won’t say I’m certain it’s global warming but I have learned that the EPA, the US Geological Service and the USDA have all published findings that verify going plant based will drastically reduce the damage we do every day to our earth. Let’s all thrive and be kind to our friends this upcoming year. If it's not good enough for your eyes, why is it good enough for your stomach? Protecting the weak is the first step to enlightenment and being truly civilized. Additionally, in the research I’ve done on nutrition in the last 4 years, I’ve found the one most evidence-based diet that will give my immune system a break every day is what grows from the earth. Every nutrient I need can be found there. I stopped filtering my nutrients through somebody else's body. My parents, my wife, and some friends have done the same and have seen positive changes. Cooking has become more enjoyable. Food tastes better. I even have an Instagram page dedicated to my cooking, @fashionedeater. We all say we love animals and we all are against animal cruelty, but we pay people to mutilate torture and slaughter animals, and it’s not for any necessity, it’s not because we need to for our health, it’s just because we like the way they taste. Let’s make this new decade a beautiful one.
